August 30, the sixth issue of the Moscow International University Ranking “Three University Missions” for 2022 was released.
The number of universities featured in the global Three University Missions ranking has increased to 1800 in 2022 compared to 1650 a year earlier. According to this parameter, the ranking is the most representative in the world. The list of the best includes universities from over 100 countries.
In the world ranking, Ural State University of Economics entered the interval group 1651-1800, and among Russian universities - the interval group 113-146.
The Moscow International University Ranking is a fundamentally new academic ranking that for the first time evaluates all three key missions of a university: education, research, and interaction with society. The ranking method has passed a large-scale public discussion with over 100 contributing universities. To compile the ranking, only objective criteria are used, based on official data (including public university reports), as well as data from reputable international information providers. Reputation surveys are completely excluded.
The ranking was started by the Russian Union of Rectors under the instruction of the President of Russia V. V. Putin. The rating operator is the Association of Compilers of Ratings, Rankings and Other Performance Evaluations Makers (ARM), whose members are leading rating and research centers. According to the Three University Missions 2022 ranking, the largest number of the best universities in the world are in Europe - these are 593 universities, or almost a third of the published list. Asia accounted for almost 30% of the best universities in the world this year - 539 universities. North America is only third in this parameter - 15.9%. The share of Russia is 8.1%, its indicator exceeds the total result for the universities of South and Central America (7.2%). Like last year, Russia rounded out the top three world leaders in the number of universities which entered the Three University Missions ranking (146 universities). Only the US and China have a higher figure (information from the RAEX website Rating review ).
