The Association of Ranking Makers presented the first pilot version of the BRICS university ranking. It covered 600 universities, including Ural State University of Economics.

The idea of creating this rating was supported by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. The rating shows which universities harmoniously implement three key missions: education, research, and interaction with society. It presents educational institutions from ten BRICS countries: Russia, Brazil, Egypt, India, Iran, China, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, and South Africa.
The list comprises 161 Russian universities with only three universities from the Sverdlovsk region, including USUE. Ural State University of Economics enters the interval group 401-450.

The ranking criteria included the number of student wins in international Olympiads and the proportion of international students at the university, joint publications with BRICS partners, the university page views in online encyclopedia, the number of subscribers to the university’s social media, and other indicators. Thus, only objective verifiable criteria approved by international experts were used to compile the list excluding subjective expert assessments.
For Ural State University of Economics, inclusion in the ranking of the best BRICS universities is further proof of the quality of education it provides.
