The tradition of cleanliness is the same across cultures

At USUE, they selected the cleanliest international students. On the eve, the university representatives and a specialist of the USUE International Cooperation Office, Elena Onishchenko, walked through the university dormitory on Shchors street, 36, and checked how the students were keeping order.

Among the top 10 were the rooms of students who came from the Comoro Islands, China, Peru, and some African countries: Morocco, Nigeria, Sudan, Guinea, Egypt, Tunisia, and the Gambia.

“Representatives of various cultures live in the dormitory on Shchors street. They differently feel about everyday life and because of this, the students may face difficulties, at least interpersonally. To motivate students to keep the rooms in roughly the same condition, we decided to hold a competition. The guys eagerly accepted this idea. Everyone immediately started cleaning and decorating their dwelling places,” — Elena Onishchenko said.

According to the specialist, the USUE International Cooperation Office will continue organizing such events and will hold other practicable competitions for international students of the university.
