RECTOR'S ELECTION HELD AT USUE 

Yakov Silin was re-elected rector of Ural State University of Economics to a second term.
 
September 3, at the conference of USUE staff and students, the election of the rector was held. Two candidates for the rector, the current rector Yakov Silin and Roman Krasnov, USUE vice-rector for social work, presented to the audience their programs of University development for 5 years.    


 
Yakov Silin built his speech based on the main and large-scale strategic goal: the creation of a leading innovation-oriented educational and research analytical center in the Urals, providing fundamental training of competitive personnel of a new formation, focused on solving complex managerial, financial, economic, production, and technological problems of an advanced social and economic development of the Ural region.  
 
We will have our way of development and it will be unique. 
 
Roman Krasnov focused on such important points of the University development as the provision of competitive and high-quality staff for the Urals, cooperation with key universities in the country, export of Russian education, and application and development of new technologies in education. Currently, USUE is cooperating with UrFU on international activities.   


 
Both candidates stressed the importance of international relations, attraction of international students, professors, and postgraduates, as well as the use of new and state-of-the-art online technologies in the educational environment, and strengthening the work in remote format.
