IN DEFENSE OF COMPETITION

Rector of USUE Yakov Silin was awarded the medal "For the Protection of Competition" of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia. The badge of distinction was presented by Deputy Head of the FAS of Russia Grigory Radionov.

“On behalf of the head of the FAS Russia, Maxim Alekseevich Shaskolsky, I express my gratitude to Yakov Petrovich for his significant contribution to the development of competition and present this high award,” Grigory Radionov congratulated the rector of USUE.

Cooperation between USUE and the FAS Russia has a long history. The university successfully operates the Department of Competition Law and Antimonopoly Regulation, created with the support of the regional FAS, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary next week.

"During this time, 518 scientific papers have been published, 11 textbooks and teaching aids have been released. There are 637 students studying in the bachelor's program, 97 in the master's program. Graduates of the department are successfully employed in antimonopoly agencies and government agencies. I thank the FAS of Russia for its support, for participating in the work of the university and for the high award. This is very honorable!" - noted Yakov Silin.

The rector of the university was not the only one to receive a high award from the FAS of Russia. For assistance in solving the tasks assigned to the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia, the head of the Department of Competition Law and Antimonopoly Regulation at USUE, Aleksandr Kurdyumov, was awarded an honorary diploma from the head of the FAS of Russia. Gratitude was presented to the professor of the department, Ekaterina Yalunina, as well as associate professors of the department, Natalia Gromova and Anton Lylov.

The award ceremony took place as part of the FAS Russia seminar-meeting on procurement legislation. The event is taking place at the Ural State University of Economics. The opening ceremony was attended by the First Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Aleksey Shmykov and the head of the regional FAS Dmitry Shalabodov.

The seminar-meeting will be held on March 27 and 28.
