An important stage in the university life

Today there was a signing of a cooperation agreement between Ural State University of Economics and the Armenian Apostolic Church of St. Karapet, Yekaterinburg.

USUE and the Church of St. Karapet have set themselves the goal of forming a holistic worldview and understanding of Armenian culture among students. Together, they will resist such negative phenomena in the youth environment as gambling addiction and national hostility.

“With the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Armenian Apostolic Church of Yekaterinburg, an important stage in the life of Ural State University of Economics begins. The level of knowledge of USUE students about the multinational country they live in depends on this significant step. Students from 68 countries study at our university, and they must know the traditions of different ethnic communities and treat them with respect,” USUE rector Yakov Silin said.

Our university will develop and implement, together with the Church of St. Karapet, educational programs aimed at the spiritual and moral education of young people.

Besides, USUE print periodicals will publish more materials dedicated to the multinational culture of Russia.

The library stock of Ural State University of Economics will be replenished with materials prepared by the Armenian Apostolic Church of Yekaterinburg. Church of St. Karapet will present review articles on youth education.

“The Armenian Apostolic Church was founded in Yekaterinburg almost ten years ago. During this time, I have visited various events at Ural State University of Economics, which connected the leading economic university of the Urals and the Armenian people. Today our relations have been officially confirmed,” the Father Superior of the St. Karapet church, priest Aristakes, said.
