Rise of the machines or technology of the future?
Students of Ural State University of Economics became spectators of the qualifying stage of the International Robot Battle Championship, which took place in the Urals capital. Young specialists and experienced engineers from five countries met at the Ekaterinburg-Expo site.

More than three hundred USUE students witnessed the clash of steel giants. Teams from Russia, Iran, India, Kazakhstan and China met in the high-tech ring. Mini-robots of youth teams and “adult” heavyweight machines met in fights.
"I saw robots for the first time in the real life, before that I had only seen them on TV. There were different models at the tournament, including talking and moving models. It was an unforgettable spectacle for foreign students from African countries. This is the technology of the future!" - said Said Suliman, an employee of the USUE International Cooperation Department.
Meanwhile, the USUE fan zone was open. Students of the Preparatory Faculty followed the broadcast in a friendly group. And students of the Institute of Digital Technologies, Management and Information Security cheered for their favorite robots at the university's cyberpolygon.
"Before watching the championship, I didn't think about how many people are involved in robotics! "The Battle of the Robots" is a great chance to perform, to show their strength, skills and abilities. It is great that not only residents of megacities participated, but also teams from small towns and villages. Being in USUE, we were cheering for our favorite robots, for our fellow countrymen from our native regions,“ said Matvey Polyakov, a 3rd year student of the Institute of Digital Technologies and Information Security of USUE.
As a result of the qualifying stage, 16 teams, including a team from Novouralsk, qualified for the competition. They will compete for a prize fund of 6.6 million rubles in the category of mini-robots up to 1.5 kg. The semi-finals and finals of the competition are scheduled for November 23, they will be held in Mytishchi, Moscow Region.
"The Battle of the Robots" is an international championship in which robots fight in exciting duels, and they are controlled by development teams from different countries. The preparation and organization of the event is coordinated by the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation.
