Today, the last Open Day of the current academic year was held at the Ural State University of Economics. Future applicants and their parents came to learn about changes in the admission rules and the specifics of studying at USUE.

Traditionally, on the first and second floors of the main building of the university and the House of Culture, there were stands of the institutes and college of USUE. Here, applicants had the opportunity to talk to the heads of departments and teachers, learn about the areas of training, get answers to questions: what disciplines are studied in this or that area of training, how many budget places, is there a dormitory.

Veronika Afanasyeva came from the city of Yugorsk in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug. This year she will take the Unified State Exam in social studies, advanced mathematics and Russian language.

"My sister studied at USUE, she told me about the quality of education at this university. I am considering the "Business Informatics" program here. I came here for the first time, I wanted to see and see the university in person and talk to the teachers. The atmosphere here is great!" - says Veronika Afanasyeva, an 11th-grader at the G.F. Atyakshev Lyceum.

Separately, presentations of USUE Institutes took place in the auditoriums. The students learned first-hand about the specifics of education, entrance examinations, the number of budget places, additional points for participation in Olympiads and for sports achievements, as well as career prospects.

Each audience was visited by the rector of the Ural State University of Economics Yakov Silin: "USUE is the only specialized economic university in the Urals. Here you will receive knowledge that will be useful to you throughout your life. Decide on your future profession: information technology, economics or law. We will help you make a choice. Your attitude to study is very important to us."

The Open Day was also attended by the university graduates. For example, Alexander Ketov graduated from the university in 2024 in the field of "Biotechnology", and is now a first-year master's student at another university in Yekaterinburg in the specialty "Agroengineering". However, he plans to enroll in graduate school at his alma mater next year.

"Despite the fact that I am currently studying at another higher education institution, I plan to return to my home university. I recommend and even advise applicants to consider USUE as an option for obtaining an education, since the university offers many opportunities," says Alexander Ketov.

The Open Day ended with an introduction to the student activists and the University Student Trade Union.

In total, in the new academic year, USUE offers 34 bachelor's degree programs, 2 specialist's degree programs, 10 master's degree programs, 3 postgraduate degree programs, and 7 college degree programs.

The admissions campaign starts on June 20. Detailed information about the admissions features, number of places and areas of study is posted on the USUE website in the section "Applicants".
