ALL-RUSSIA CHECKERS COMPETITIONS: USUE STUDENTS AMONG THE WINNERS

From February 7 to 10, the all-Russia student checkers competitions were held in Chelyabinsk. Our University was successfully represented by Matvey Nedbaylo and Damir Rysaev. Matvey, the checkers master, became the second, and the international grandmaster Damir took fourth place.

The event was attended by 39 players from 12 universities of the country. One grandmaster of the Russian Federation, 5 RF masters of sports and more than 20 candidate masters. The battles between equally-matched players lasted two days, during which eight Swiss-system rounds took place.
