The Rector welcomed all the guests and spoke about the past and the present of the University. Preparations for the anniversary of the University began early in the year. During this time, the University repaired academic buildings, dormitories, food facilities, sports complex, Recreation Center, and USUE museum.

"The main feature of our University is that we receive least government financing among all other universities of the Urals and Siberia. We live at our own expense. 90% of our students are studying at their own expense, this means they see sense to invest money in themselves and in our University," the Rector said. He announced that the University cooperates with 11 former republics of the Soviet Union and that today 500 foreign students from 35 countries are trained at USUE.

The Chairperson of the National Cultural Associations of the Sverdlovsk region Farukh Mirzoyev thanked the University administration for the invitation and wished it to implement all the plans.

The meeting was attended by representatives of public organizations of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bashkortostan, Greece, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Dagestan, and other. Such meetings at USUE make a significant contribution to the strengthening of inter-ethnic relations in the Sverdlovsk region.
