A BRIBE WILL NOT WORK!

USUE held a workshop, "Life Without Corruption," aimed at fostering anti-corruption legal awareness among students. The event was organized by the Sverdlovsk Association of Student Trade Unions.

The seminar participants included students from the Institute of Public Administration, Municipal Governance, and Law at USUE and students from USMU. They were asked to examine the phenomenon of corruption from various perspectives. Together with expert Lyudmila Tuzhikova, the students learned about anti-corruption measures within the framework of state anti-corruption policy and examined the history and origins of this social phenomenon in our society.

The seminar-workshop was designed to reinforce theoretical knowledge with practical application. Participants were drawn to case studies based on real events and prepared by lawyer Alena Tikhonkova. Each case was supported by legislative references and expert commentary. Students actively participated in role-playing games based on political, business, and everyday corruption.

The project's experts helped future professionals understand the psychological causes of people's involvement in corruption and the opportunity to recognize their role and responsibility in combating this social evil. Students were asked to independently create a profile of a bribe-giver and a bribe-taker, and then compare their findings with the results of psychological and sociological studies, as well as international anti-corruption practices.

Svetlana Glushkova, a member of the Sverdlovsk Region Public Chamber, introduced students to the activities of public oversight bodies in preventing and combating corruption, as well as the work of youth public associations.

Following her interaction with students, Svetlana Glushkova noted the importance of educational and preventative work with young people to develop a legal and anti-corruption culture: "The workshop has been successfully implemented in our region for several years now at various educational institutions. The key to the sustainability of this project is the combination of lectures, seminars, business games, questionnaires, interviews, and interactive interaction between the project team and participants through dialogue and lively discussion."

Following the workshop, all participants received certificates.

The event was organized as part of a project aimed at developing anti-corruption legal awareness among student youth.

The project is being implemented with the support of the Department of Youth Policy and the Commission for Public Control and Interaction with Public Control Entities of the Public Chamber of the Sverdlovsk Region.
