XII EEYF brought together the entire world
The Ekaterinburg-Expo exhibition center hosted the grand opening of the XII Eurasian Economic Youth Forum - “Russia and the World in New Realities: Changing World Economic Relations.” Today, XII EEYF gathered over eight thousand participants from 92 countries of the world and 76 regions of Russia.
XII Eurasian Economic Youth Forum began with an artistic show that unites the creative energy of striking people from countries around the world.
The first to make a welcoming speech was Professor Yakov Silin, the President of the Ural Branch of the Free Economic Society of Russia, rector of Ural State University of Economics: “Here, in the Urals, in the ‘power’s stronghold’, we are holding the XII Eurasian Economic Youth Forum together with the Free Economic Society of Russia, the oldest public organization in our country. We are witnesses and participants of the global changes taking place in the world. It depends on us, first, on young people of all countries, what this new world will be like.”
This year, XII EEYF is held jointly with representatives of 6 international co-organizers: St. Petersburg State University of Economics (St. Petersburg), Belarusian State University of Economics (Minsk), Azerbaijan State University of Economics (Baku), M. Ryskulbekov Kyrgyz Economic University (Bishkek), as well as the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University. (Astana) and the Tajik National University (Dushanbe).
Presidential Envoy to the Ural Federal District, Vladimir Yakushev, congratulated the forum participants on the opening of such a large-scale event and paid special attention to the presence of ambassadors from dozens of states, expressing gratitude to them for their interest in EEYF: “The Ural Federal District is a major center of economic education in Russia. USUE is a dramatic confirmation of this. This is because of the high demand for specialists. The Ural Federal District is a large industrial, financial, and commercial center. Most of the forum participants are young people, and it is they who will play a decisive role in a ‘new’ world.”
Vice Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, Oleg Chemezov , congratulating the participants, emphasized that the forum is of great importance for the Sverdlovsk region: “Today Yekaterinburg is a leading center to develop international relations, and EEYF is a recognized platform for the interaction of experts from different parts of the world. It is important that essential issues are discussed with the participation of young people: it is you, young people, who will decide what our planet will be like.”
The participants of the plenary meeting of the XII EEYF were addressed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic, Riad Haddad. The deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, acting head of the LDPR faction, chairperson of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, conveyed congratulations to the forum participants. A video message of congratulations for the guests was prepared by the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Grigory Gurov, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs Andrei Platonov, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation Dmitry Polikanov, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, incumbent member of the board for the main areas of integration and macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation Sergey Glazyev, President of the VEO of Russia, President of the International Union of Economists, Director of the S.Yu. Witte Institute for New Industrial Development, expert of the Russian Academy of Sciences, honorary doctor of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, USUE Honorary Professor Sergei Bodrunov.
At the end of the day, at the Ekaterinburg-Expo exhibition center, there was a concert of the best artists of the city - “Theatrical visiting card of Yekaterinburg”.
