They defended projects even in English
The Congress of Schoolchildren was held at Ural State University of Economics. School students defended projects in several clusters: they talked about the influence of street art, the formation of the image of a city, the development of glamping, and even about the benefits of smartphones. USUE rector Yakov Silin addressed the Congress participants.
He greeted the guests and wished them good luck: “I congratulate all the participants of today’s Congress! You have reached the final stage, so you have already become one of the strongest participants. The future of our economy rests with you. Keep it up!”
As Irina Martyanova, director of the Congress of Schoolchildren, noted that the event was organized for the tenth year in a row, and each time the interest among schoolchildren was growing. The level of competence is also growing. “Today, school students from Crimea, Moscow, St. Petersburg and even from Kyrgyzstan arrived at USUE. Many of them visit Yekaterinburg for the first time. We hope they enjoy it!” Irina Martyanova said.
During the day, the members of the competition commission reviewed 175 works. The Debut in Science contest featured the Computer Genius, Traveler Club, Economic Box, and Be Healthy clusters.
Besides, as part of the Congress, a competition in a foreign language “Socio-cultural ties as the basis of trust-based relations in economy” was held. The children defended their works in English, and specialized experts from among the USUE teachers tested their speaking skills and knowledge of terms.
There one could become acquainted with the project about the influence of street art, about the formation of the image of a city, about the development of glamping and even about the benefits of smartphones.
At the end of the day, the winners and runners-up of the Congress were solemnly presented with souvenirs, certificates, the Order of the Star of Eurasia, and an additional bonus of five points for the Unified State Examination upon admission to USUE.
