Ural State University of Economics entered the top 100 best universities in Russia in the Webometrics International Ranking of World Universities 2024.
USUE took 93rd position in Russia, being the second among universities in the Sverdlovsk region.
To compile the ranking, researchers evaluated 991 Russian universities. Webometrics evaluation criteria included such indicators as the number of external sites referring to the university website; number of works and citations; number of pages of the main domain and all sub-domains of the university.
“The rating reflects the work of the university and is important with the support of specialized organizations, such as the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control and Rosfinmonitoring. This indicator affects the successful employment of our graduates, the support of authorities financing the education system, and, of course, the number of state-funded places provided,” Alexander Kokovikhin, director of the USUE Institute of Digital Management Technologies and Information Security, said.
USUE entered the ranking thanks to its consistent work in the field of information technologies. For example, the university is actively involved in the development of Artificial Intelligence and the scientific journal Digital Models and Solutions, which is in the list of the Higher Attestation Commission. Apart from that, the university is working on data economics together with the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications of the Sverdlovsk region. USUE is also one of eight universities in the Ural Federal District that offers applicants the educational program “Information Security”.
Webometrics is an international ranking of universities that evaluates the prestige of educational institutions and tracks their development. During 20 years, they publish it twice a year, covering over 30 thousand universities around the world.
