At Ural State University of Economics, known sommeliers and cavistes of Yekaterinburg taste more than 100 beverages from around the world. They learn to describe flavors at the international level to pass an exam on December 6 and get a Level 3 WSET certificate. The classes are held by Andrey Mikushin, certified teacher, Master of Wine. There are only two such specialists in Russia.

Welcoming the graduates, special guests, and students in the magnificent hall of the Yekaterinburg Opera and Ballet Theater, the USUE Rector Yakov Silin congratulated all comers on the nice holiday. He reminded the audience that half a century ago, the foundation of the University was laid by the USU Faculty of Economics and the branch of the Plekhanov Moscow Institute of National Economy. Based on these training grounds the first six departments were established: 232 staff members trained 2,399 students.

USUE was the only university in the Sverdlovsk region, which had prepared and applied for participation at the Abilympics National Professional Skills Competition for people with disabilities. The competitions were held in Moscow from 1 to 3 December.

December 4, students of Ural State University of Economics learned about the exchange economy through the example of foreign countries. The lecture was delivered by Professor of the Prague Business School, researcher at the University of Cambridge, Professor of the North Caucasus Federal University and Moscow Power Engineering Institute, director of the Prague Institute for Advanced Training Wadim Strielkowski.

Today, at the Academic Council, the rector of Ural State University of Economics Yakov Silin gave recognition to the best faculty members.

November 30, the award ceremony for the best women of the region took place. For several months, 86 Sverdlovsk women fought for the prestigious title "Woman of the Year - 2017".

December 1, Ural State University of Economics was visited by Counsel, head of the Department of Education at the Vietnam Embassy in the Russian Federation Fam Than Suan and First Secretary, head of the Department on Work With Students at the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia Nguen Thi Ti Mai. They met with the USUE Rector Yakov Silin, became acquainted with the University and saw the sight of Yekaterinburg.

Today, Ural State University of Economics hosted a panel discussion, which participants were the regional director of the Russian-Ecuadorian Chamber of Commerce Migel de la Kruz Salsedo, President of the Association of Foreign Students of Russia Yao Adu Nikez, Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Students Association Board of Trustees Anicet Gabriel Kochofa, President of the World Alumni Association Vladimir Chety and foreign students of USUE.

Late November, the USUE students of VED-17-1 and VED -17-2 groups, as part of the course "Introduction to economics and organization of research" (lecturer – A. November 29, at Ural State University of Economics the composition of the Ural branch of the Free Economic Society of Russia (VEO) has been approved. The USUE Rector Yakov Silin was elected the president of the Ural Branch of the Free Economic Society of Russia and the post of vice-president was taken by Andrei Bessedin, head of the Ural Chamber of Commerce. On the branch are representatives of authorities from the Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk regions.

November 28, Ural State University of Economics was visited by a doctoral student from the Ruhr University (Bochum, Germany) Lisa Grandjean. She visited Universitetsky Technopark of high-end technologies, met with the USUE Rector Yakov Silin, and became acquainted with the exhibits of the USUE Museum.

As part of the events timed to the World Quality Day, today Ural State University of Economics hosted an expert examination and consumer evaluation of cheeses of Russian producers. The experts were employees of the USUE Common Laboratory Complex and consumer evaluation was done by students and staff of the University.

November 26, for the first time USUE held the Health Day for the social adaptation of persons with disabilities . The organizers were the student health club "We are Together", the department for sports, Office for Mass-participation Sports and Health Promotion, and the Office for Social Work of the University.

Professor of the Department of Public and Municipal Administration of Ural State University of Economics, Natalia Vlasova and the chair of the USUE Council of Young Scientists, Associate Professor at the Department of Public and Municipal Administration Olga Ergunova were awarded letters of thanks of the head of Yekaterinburg Administration A. Yakob for organizing the work of the sections at the All-Russian forum "Cities of Russia 2030: Crossroads of Opportunities". The forum was held on November 15-16, 2017 at the Yeltsin Center.

November 25, USUE hosted Russian judo tournament among blind (visually impaired) athletes. 20 participants from Yekaterinburg, Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Kurgan, and Ufa came to show their skills.

November 26, 2017, on the courts of the Ural tennis center, the tennis tournament in honor of the USUE 50th anniversary took place. The event was organized by the USUE Alumni Association and the Institute of Management and Information Technologies. For the first time, participants in the doubles were graduates, lecturers, and students of the University, for whom tennis is not only a source of the healthy lifestyle but also a place for professional communication that unites representatives of different generations.

November 23, a Czech delegation headed by hetman of South Bohemia Ivana Str?sk? visited USUE. The USUE Rector Yakov Silin discussed with the guests of the University the possibilities of cooperation.

Today, the awarding of degrees to students in part-time master’s program was held. For several years, almost one hundred people worked for the master qualification.

USUE students continue to study the history of their country in the multimedia historical park "Russia is My History".

Ural State University of Economics continues to study cultural traditions of different nations at the festival "Around the World in 7 Days". From 22 to 24 November, students from China, Mongolia, Africa, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan cook authentic dishes that all participants in the culinary master classes will be able to taste.

Ural State University of Economics in cooperation sHayek International Business School has been recognized by the Austrian Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation. In this process, the assistance to our University was rendered by the USUE professor emeritus Kristof Braunschweig. The Agency is a full member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education.

November 22, at USUE there were signed cooperation agreements on continuing education between the Ministry of Education of the Sverdlovsk region, Ural State University of Economics and colleges of the region.

The USUE Division of Interaction with Employers regularly arranges meetings with employers for senior students. Today there was held a meeting with the deputy chief of the Inspection office of the Federal Tax Service for Verkh-Iset district of Yekaterinburg, an adviser to the State Civil Service of the Russian Federation Marina Matveeva.

Today, at Ural State University of Economics , students from 15 countries showed their national attributes: holiday clothes and musical instruments, arts and crafts, books and customs. There was no way to do without national cuisines: Chinese naan, Turkmen bogurshak, Mexican torta- ahogada, Yakut aladi, Georgian sujuk, Mongolian buuz, Afghan nakhod - these dishes could be tasted at the cultural festival. Together with USUE students, students of Ural State Medical University, Ural Federal University, and other educational institutions danced lezghinka and listened to drumming.

In November 2017, we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Eurasian Research Institute of Man (Russian abbreviation — ENIICH). In connection with this, on November 23 at 12:00 in USUE classroom 152, a jubilee meeting of ENIICH will be held. The topic of the meeting is «Man and Society: Results and Prospects of Interaction».

The USUE delegation visited Duna?jv?ros University (Hungary) to agree on specific areas of cooperation. During the visit, Vice President for Academic Affairs Sergey Rogozhin was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of the University of Duna?jv?ros for his work for cooperation between the universities.

Today, students and teachers of Ural State University of Economics met with Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation in the Urals Federal District, State Councilor of Justice of the 1st class Yuri Ponomarev. The hosts of the meeting were USUE Rector Yakov Silin, Vice-Rector for Social Work Roman Krasnov and Vice-Rector for Property Management Vladimir Kuligin.

A student of Ural State University of Economics Konstantin Kislitsyn won «silver» at the Championship of Russia among persons with mobility disabilities. Competitions were held from November 18 to 20 in Cheboksary (Chuvash Republic).

At Ural State University of Economics, the culture festival «Around the World in 7 Days» was launched. Today, representatives of different countries discussed international problems and projects and learned to dance lezghinka.

The students started their trip to the history of the internal affairs bodies of the region from the Hall of Glory, where, as the curator of the museum’s funds Sergey Ankudinov explained, «the first thing of the museum» — the Red Banner of Internal Affairs is in permanent safekeeping. After that, the students watched a short video about the harsh routine of police services and units.

November 18, the Museum of History of Yekaterinburg hosted a city action «Night of Museums». The guides acquainted the guests with permanent and temporary expositions of the Museum and showed the works of finalists of the children drawings contest.

The youth forum "Professional Growth" was held in Yekaterinburg on November 17. Students and graduates of Yekaterinburg universities participated in master classes, trainings, and business games, undertook career-oriented computer testing, wrote and checked resumes together with career coaches.

Today, Ural State University of Economics gathered eminent representatives of food industry. Technologists and scientists come from all over Russia for a conference devoted to the anniversary of the Honored Worker of Russian Federation Valery Poznyakovsky, professor at the USUE Department of Food Technologies, Doctor of Biology. Many of the participants know Valery Mikhailovich as a mentor and teacher.

16 ноября по итогам V Интерактивного Конгресса студентов и магистрантов (ИКСМ) прошел Круглый стол. Конгресс – это научно-исследовательская площадка для обучающихся и преподавателей вуза, а также работодателей, взаимодействующих с УрГЭУ. Интерактивный Конгресс функционирует в режиме онлайн. С 1 по 14 ноября был проведен V ИКСМ (Интерактивный конгресс студентов и магистрантов) по теме «Стратегии инновационного развития: теория и практика». Инициатором и организатором данного мероприятия является кафедра менеджмента УрГЭУ.
