The USUE Rector Yakov Silin and the director of the Ural Regional information center (RIC) of TASS Maria Kartuz signed the agreement on cooperation between the University and TASS news agency.

Yesterday, the students of the USUE Department of Public and Municipal Administration met with the second secretary of the Yekaterinburg Foreign Ministry Office Ramil Shamsutdinov. The meeting was held by Vladimir Sulimin, lecturer of the department, Honored Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation.

For several years, the Council of Young Scientists has been successfully working at Ural State University of Economics. The Council assists in the formation of a dynamic research environment based on self-organization and initiative of young scientists and specialists of the University.

The Ural Scientific Readings for professors and doctoral students of social sciences "Economic, Social and Spiritual Renewal of Russia - the Basis of a New Industrialization" are held today at Ural State University of Economics. This year's readings are devoted to the Day of Russian Science and are held under two flags: USUE and the Free Economic Society of Russia (the Ural Branch).

February 5, the Department of Civil Law held a roundtable "Legal Regulation of Microfinance Organizations Activities". The faculty, students, and representatives of law enforcement bodies took part in its work.

Today, Ural State University of Economics launched a program for advanced training "Management practices: planning and forecasting techniques at a modern enterprise" for trainees of NPO Avtomatiki. Within a few days, its department managers will systematize knowledge and expand competencies.

February 1, USUE Rector Yakov Silin and members of the USUE Council of Young Scientists Olga Ergunova, Ivan Antipin, Ekaterina Kaibicheva, and Alisa Titovets took part in the meeting of the Council for Strategic Development of Yekaterinburg. At the meeting of the Council, the revised draft of the Strategic Plan for Yekaterinburg Development until 2030 was considered.

January 31, graduation ceremony of NPK Uralvagonzavod (UVZ) employees was held.

The purpose of the Council is an expert analysis of sectoral and cross-sectoral strategies for the development of the Sverdlovsk region, as well as strategies for municipalities’ socioeconomic development. The initiator of the Council establishment was the Ministry of Economy and Territorial Development of the Sverdlovsk region.

Recently, the USUE food production facility gained a confectionery shop with the production of a wide range of confectionery and pastries. Tantalizing desserts and sweets with vanilla eye-popping names not only ruthlessly tempt students and teachers: the "sweet" business brings a considerable income to the University.

Tomorrow is February 1. This is the period by which school leavers must decide on the choice of subjects for Unified State Exam. To select subjects of the Unified State Examination is necessary for all those who are going to continue their studies at universities.

For USUE, the Day of Russian Students became a "double" holiday: an associate professor of the Department of Merchandising and Goods Expertise Ekaterina Pastushkova won the award of the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region in the category "Associate Professor of the Year".

The scheduled meeting of the organizing committee of the IX Eurasian Economic Youth Forum "Asia-Russia-Africa: the Economy of Future" was devoted to clarifying the lists of invited experts, speakers, contest leaders, and organizing events for participants of all age categories – high school seniors, students, and young scientists.

The billiard club "Antey" hosted the IX Russian billiards tournament of USUE staff. The competition became traditional and gathered several dozen participants. The University Rector Yakov Silin kicked off the competition. "This year, number nine is special for us. In spring, the IX Eurasian Economic Youth Forum will be held, and the billiards tournament is the ninth. I wish all the participants good luck," the University Rector said.

The leadership of the USUE School of Corporate Education and the Uralvagonzavod Training Center held a working meeting to discuss cooperation for 2018. During the meeting, employees of the plant, who completed training, received documents on upgrading their qualifications. The students of Ural State University of Economics had a rare opportunity today to talk to Hero of Russia, colonel of the RF Interior Ministry Serik Sultangabiev. The Russian officer, who passed two Chechen campaigns, even in peacetime felt that he was responsible for the military personnel. On September 25, 2014, at the training ground of military unit 3275 in Lesnoy town during the military exercises, junior sergeant Alexei Telenin dropped the unpinned RGD-5 grenade. Sultangabiyev pushed the sergeant and covered him from the explosion, receiving multiple injuries.

Preparations for the organization and holding of the IX Eurasian Economic Youth Forum "Asia - Russia - Africa: the Economy of Future" is in full swing. At the meeting of the organizing committee, USUE Rector Yakov Silin outlined a vector that the organizers of the event should adhere to.

Elena Elfimova, associate professor of the USUE Department of Civil Law, retired Colonel of the Police, took first place in the contest "Best Research Work on Improving Activities of the Internal Affairs Bodies of the Russian Federation".

The Department of Accounting and Auditing is the Certified Training Center of 1C Company and an active participant in the "Courses of the Leading Software Manufacturers to Leading Universities". The department trains new personnel for the economy based on 1C technological solutions. USUE has an agreement with 1C Company on the use of software products in higher educational institutions.

January 15, the Rector of Ural State University of Economics Yakov Silin, presented certificates of merit and letters of thanks to the staff members of the University for their many-years conscientious work, professionalism, and contribution to the training of high-skilled specialists.

USUE students supported Uralochka-NTMK team in the return match of the round of last 32 of the European Volleyball Confederation Cup (CEV Cup). The international match against the Romanian CSM Bucharest team was held at DIVS (Palace of Team Sports).

One of the priority areas of development of the Department of Labor Economics and HR Management for 2018 is the creation of a scientific school that could help nurture young scientists, promote defense of their dissertations and publication of their articles in high-ranking scientific journals and also make up a scientific agenda in the field of labor economics for researchers of our country.

This year, one of the most significant events in the life of USUE is the IX Eurasian Economic Youth Forum. By tradition, the concepts and logo for this large-scale international event are being developed.

The corresponding law was signed by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Now, foreign students who had studied the Russian language for a year and entered a university will be able to extend their study visas without leaving the country. The document is published in the Internet state law database.

Eight projects of fundamental research in the field of humanities and social sciences, the University sent to the contest, were selected by the expert council and received financial support from the Russian Foundation for Basic Research. The annual grant amount for the implementation of each project was 700 thousand rubles. Most of the programs are designed for two years.

The Federal Treasury Department for the Sverdlovsk region and Ural State University of Economics have been cooperating since 2013. The parties organize on-job and pre-graduation practical training, often with subsequent employment in the bodies of the Federal Treasury.

January 9, the Rector of Ural State University of Economics Yakov Silin awarded the diploma to the student brigade of train hosts "Hellas". In 2017, the regional meeting of student brigades declared "Hellas" the best student brigade of train hosts in the Sverdlovsk region.

In a solemn atmosphere, USUE Rector Yakov Silin, general director of AO "RSG-Academicheskoye" Viktor Kiselev, and general director of ZAO "UK-Academichesky" Nikolai Smirnyagin signed a trilateral agreement on cooperation.

The USUE Recreation Center hosted the awarding ceremony of the University best employees: heads of subdivisions, chairs of departments, and faculty members. The event was held as part of the University anniversary celebration.

December 25, the USUE Department of Labor Economics and HR Management held an extended meeting on the results of the year. Together with the staff of the Department, personnel directors, heads of specialized departments and divisions of the largest enterprises of the Sverdlovsk region discussed the areas of cooperation and outlined further steps to implement joint activities.

The health center of the University received an unlimited license from Roszdravnadzor in the Sverdlovsk region to carry out medical activities. USUE is one of the few universities in Yekaterinburg that received permission to provide medical care.
